About
I’m Lucy Champion, an Infection Prevention and Control Nurse Specialist with over 20 years’ nursing experience across acute, community and system-level healthcare.
I have worked at Integrated Care Board level, supporting providers across primary care, care homes and community services to improve infection prevention and control, manage infection risks and strengthen governance and assurance.
I understand the reality of frontline services - limited time, competing priorities and increasing regulatory pressure. My approach is practical, proportionate and focused on what actually works in real settings, not just what guidance says on paper.
I now provide independent IPC support to healthcare and care services through IPC health checks, specialist support and advice, and tailored training and education.
Whether you need an independent view of your current arrangements, help with a specific IPC concern, support following an incident or audit, or practical training for your team, I can tailor the support to what your service actually needs.
My focus is straightforward: helping services provide safe, effective care while giving teams confidence that their IPC arrangements are robust, practical and proportionate.
